Millenia Park

The Millennia Park office development is the only refurbished project in South Africa to receive 5 stars from the Green Building Council of South Africa.

Sparq Consulting were appointed as the Mechanical Consultant for all HVAC, Plumbing & Drainage, Fire & Lift services on this project. One of the main energy saving initiatives employed on this project are the introduction of an active chilled beam system with full hydroscopic energy recovery air handlers. This is one of the first buildings in South Africa to use this technology, which will greatly assist with energy saving. There is also a large rainwater capture system, as well as a Grey Water recycling plant to reduce potable water consumption and reduce sewer loads.

All plumbing and drainage systems use PEX or HDPE systems to minimise use of PVC products, inline with the sustainable initiatives and all water usage is monitored throughout the project.

An advanced Building Management System will monitor and control all services to track energy consumption and ensure efficient operation and commissioning of the systems. Energy Modeling and Green Star reporting are key elements of this project and we are are excited to be involved in one of the few Green Star projects in South Africa!
